Ackley Gets Internet - June 23rd, 2007 by Ryan

I am finally hooked up out here in Fairplay with the Internet. After many hours of phone calls and router tweaking it was decided to put the router on my roof. I will let you know that out here in the remote town of Fairplay there are not many options for Internet service. I am linked from my roof to a T1 line at my neighbors house and we transmit through radio waves. Any way I am up to date and ready to begin surfing the web.

Site Navigation - Remote - June 15th, 2007 by REELcomp Team

REELcomp.com has created a unique video viewing and navigation tool that will allow users to save favorites, play music and watch videos from a remote feature. This feature allows you to completely customize your own remote to exactly what you want. It will also be available for a downloadable application to your desktop to be used as a “gadget” or a “widget” so you will be able to view videos of your choice without opening a browser ! What can you get away with with a navigation tool like that? As development continues we will release more info.

Completion of Stage II - June 11th, 2007 by Ryan

Today was the day to meet with Mind Medium again and to get an update of where we are at in our project. Mind Medium had a demo up for us to see and it looked sick. All the communication has paid off as to which way to head with design and Mind Medium was right their scooping up all the ideas and putting them in 0’s and 1’s. The whole crew was very excited too see the progress and that we are right on track for Stage three. I have got to put the keys away and catch some sleep on this flight I have a long drive back to Fairplay tonight and an early to work in the A.M.

The Morning After - June 10th, 2007 by Ryan

Sunday morning was on us after a crazy night and we were off to grab some grub. Following a long breakfast we were back at Melissa’s finishing up with the design in Illustrator. Mark made quick work with the computer and by the early evening we had an Illustrator file for each of our pages that are to be REELcomp.com. Dinner was approaching fast and we had a gang of people ready to tear up some sushi. We brought along with us a potential programmer for the site to get to know a bit better. We learned a lot of what kinds of work he has been into over the past few years and where his expertise lie. After sushi, and a mess at the self serve Ice Cream Sunday shop thanks to Mark C., we were on our way back for a well-deserved early nights rest.

1st Day Back to LA - June 9th, 2007 by Ryan

WOW. What another whirlwind yet highly productive weekend for REElcomp. By late Friday afternoon we had all arrived in Los Angeles and were headed down to Newport Beach to get an early start on Saturday. We got to the Ramada ResidenceInn and Chad dished out the new wireless gear to help keep us all connected and on the same network. Saturday morning came after a short nights rest and we were into some bagels and work by 9 A.M. Mark was dropping lots of design ideas on us for Rave Cards and Business Cards and we were able to make some decisions on the direction we will head with those. We moved shop over to Melissa’s in the early afternoon to bang out some more work. We locked in a good portion of the final design proposals on Illustrator to be handed off to Mind Medium during our upcoming meeting. The whole team was pleased with how the vision of the site was melding together so we decided to grab a few cocktails, and call it a days work around 8 P.M.
