Winter may have actually arrived in the Mountains of Colorado. I think the time has come where the pre work shred sessions can start to happen as the base deepens here in Summit County. Checking conditions before heading to the hill is something I like to do from my sofa while cooking up some breakfast. I chose Fairplay as my home and if anyone is familiar with hoosier pass you would know the conditions in Fairplay versus the Breckenridge side can be amazingly different. A tool that I like to use to scope out the other side of the pass is Breck Live Cam. The guys that run this little website have three cameras posted atop their office and give a pretty good idea of what is coming down over in Breck.

Site Updates
Over the past few weeks we have been working on a few bugs on the site that are driving us nuts as they are with you as well. A lot of you have emailed us to let us know what was bothering you and we thank you for that. We built this site for everyone and to help everyone share their videos, compete, watch webcasts and meet your goals as a filmer, rider or production crew. The more feedback we get from YOU the more we can improve the site and give you what you want. Anyway thanks for your support and if you have 30sec to give us some feed back it would help us continuously improve the site.
Some of the bugs we fixed include the avatar, podcasts are available for select CXX Events, Crown Room styling, introduction to minicomps. We will keep you posted as we add new features to the site.

Breck Opening Day
I was able to get out for the opening day at Breckenridge, It was a little different this year with Peak 8 being the first to open as opposed to Peak 9. This puts a hitch in the ride before work runs since you have to ride the gondola and are not able to just ride back to town and hurry into work. The run Springmeier had great coverage for being mostly all man made and it was plenty wide to accommodate the hoards of people ripping down it. I do have to say I am a little disappointed not to have seen any early season jibs set up but I am sure they will be popping up real soon. Oh yeah the free pancake breakfast did take place and it was well worth the early rise to fill my belly on some free grub. Thats all I got see you out there.

Overseas
The Pirates went overseas to add to their already stellar crew of European riders. This season, North American standouts Mike Casanova and Dan Brisse joined the squad of swashbucklers led by Hans Ahlund and Marko Grilc. Look for banger parts from these guys, and dont sleep on Gigi Rüfs second part of the year, who to quote Pirate Editor Basti Balser, has the iron legs of Austria, stomping tricks on impossibly flat landings. As you can see by the rider list, the Pirate crew is a diverse one—rail riders, jumpers, and backcountry guys all made their way into the lineup, which promises entertainment for every boarding enthusiast. OverSeas also comes with a 100 page art book, so youd be hard pressed to find a reason not to add this to your wish list.
