ROME SDS and Blue Bird Video Premiere LIVE - August 21st, 2008 by REELcomp Team

You heard it right. REELcomp is going to LIVE webcast the video premiere of the ROME SDS and Blue Bird Videos this year from ASR directly to your computer. Hang out with the riders before the show, get their thoughts and craziest moments of this past years filming first hand. After hanging with the crew we will broadcast the videos in full on REELcomp.com. Share some laughs and the long awaited premiere with those who created it.

We will see you LIVE from ASR on September 4, 2008, doors open at 8pm and we will be live around 9:30pm but we will keep you posted.

REELcomp ReLaunch - August 21st, 2008 by REELcomp Team

Well here it is. Thank you for your patience this past week but I think you all will be very pleased with the new additions to the site. The REELcomp Team has been working hard these past few months to create an insane site dedicated to Skate, Snow and Surf. Besides the obvious we have transformed REELcomp into some sort of beast that we have all been waiting for… one that hides and goes under the radar until finally seen then attacks from the snow, sand and concrete only to cause chaos and respect. Anyway here are some of the additions to the site:

- Click on a song, rider or production crew in the video info box to find other videos on REELcomp with the  same.

- RC messaging system for interuser messaging
- GET PAID- new comp brackets and mini comps set up

- PRODUCTION - this section of REELcomp is dedicated to freelance filmers, crews and Production companies trying to get the word out. Each approved user can create their own fully custom microsite on REELcomp. SICK!
- Featured PRODUCTION - of course we are going to feature a production site…. get the word out.
- ALL, SKATE, SNOW and SURF home pages each can be marked as your “home page” when you log in.
- SITE ACTIVITY - check out what has been happening on the site since you have been gone. Everypage has a footer with the up to the second activity on the site as well as some quick links to navigate quicker.

Restructure / Restyle / Relaunch - July 9th, 2008 by REELcomp Team

REELcomp is almost 1 year old and for our birthday we are completely restyling the site and adding in dozens of features that will make the site one of the top video sharing sites. REELcomp is increasing the maximum file size limit on videos, improving the transcoding process for better quality videos, adding networking features, new players, additional video options, new brackets and mini comps and much more. We are just not going to tell you anymore so the other corporate guys don’t steal our shiz.

Look out for all the updates dropping August, 2008. Till then the more videos that get loaded on the bigger our prizes will get.

ColorTelevision Trailor WINS REELCOMP - June 23rd, 2008 by REELcomp Team

The final round of the Snowboarding video competition on REELcomp has come to an end. rbalding has just won himself a trip to NZ including airfare, hotels, food and a day of heli in some of the best mountains in the world. Rome SDS will be hooking him up with a full head to board set up for the 09 season! Check out the winning video!



REELcomp is in the process of gathering some bigger and better prizes for the next round of brackets which will be starting in the next few weeks. The more videos that are uploaded the bigger and better the prizes will get so let see what you got and load some more vids to REELcomp.
REELcomp is developing some major site enhancements that will be released in a few weeks, we are undergoing some testing and then we will blow your mind. LETS DO THIS!

Snowboarding FINAL FOUR - June 9th, 2008 by REELcomp Team

Over the past 8 months the members of REELcomp have narrowed down the top videos in each category for Best Trick, Best Bail, Best Edit and Your Choice. The Grand Prize for Snowboarding is an all expense paid trip to NZ for a week of snowboarding including one day of heli from All Star Trips plus a complete head to board set up from Rome Snowboards. Make sure you get in there and check out the final four and vote for the 2 videos who deserve to move on to the next and final round of the brackets on REELcomp!

REELcomp to Award Grand Prize in Skate and Snow Comps - May 20th, 2008 by REELcomp Team

REELcomp to Award Grand Prize in Skate and Snow Competitions

Cash and gear hang in the balance as best skate and snowboard videos are selected.

LAS VEGAS, NV, May 20, 2008 – REELcomp, the premier destination to upload original board sport footage to share and compete in online contests, announced today that the final bracket competitions for Skateboarding and Snowboarding are underway awarding Grand Prizes worth thousands of dollars to two lucky winners.

The culmination of 32 weeks of competition, the final round for Skateboarding kicked off on May 18, 2008, and will last one week, resulting in the selection of the winning video. The overall winner will receive a Grand Prize valued at nearly $10,000, including a Panasonic HVX200, four complete sets of Analog 2009 Street Wear, a year’s supply of skate shoes from Circa, and a gift card from PortersTahoe.com.

As the Snowboarding season wraps up, REELcomp ramps up for the Snowboarding video competition finals, launching on May 25, 2008.  The winning video will make it through 4 rounds of finals and its creator will win an all expense paid trip to New Zealand, sponsored by All Star Trips, and a complete head-to-board setup from Rome SDS.  Categories for the snowboard competition are the same as those for skateboarding, and anyone can enter and win as long as their video complies with contest rules.

REELcomp is running several contests simultaneously, in addition to the skate and snowboard finals, athletes can also enter their “sponsor me” video in the Maloof Money Cup/REELcomp Search for AMs contest which will award four (4) winners, two (2) each from the Street and Vert competitions, a chance to compete in the Maloof Money Cup for a $100,000 prize. 1st Annual Ultimate Boarder - RECAP POST - April 22nd, 2008 by REELcomp Team

Well there you have it the crowned winner of the 1st Annual Ultimate Boarder competition is Aaron Astorga ! After a crazy week of this three stage event beginning in Squaw Valley and traveling down to Ventura for stage two and three the celebration went off on Saturday. A great toast was made to the man behind the dream of the Ultimate Boarder and in celebration of his birthday. This event was one of a kind in so many ways not only because it was the first three stage event with in the USA but also because it was an event to intertwine the three core board sports and allow the athletes to share their love of the sports with others that have the same passion. All week long there was a competitive vibe but more noticeable was the thrill to be involved in such a fun laid back event. Many of the riders said “we will see you next year”.

REELcomp.com had the LIVE coverage of all three stages and has posted a few highlight reels and interviews of the event. REELcomp.com will be posting many more highlights as we sort through the weeks footage.

Stage Two of Ultimate Boarder Complete - April 17th, 2008 by REELcomp Team

For those of you who missed the action on the beach or on the LIVE webcast….well I’m sorry but I have compiled a few pics for you to check out below. We had some luck on our side yesterday from mother nature giving Ultimate Boarder some good waves throughout the competition. All the athletes had a good showing but in the end Eric McHenry took the top seat on the podium.
