DC MTN.LAB TRIP - February 25th, 2008 by REELcomp Team
So I just got back from one of the coolest trips I’ve ever been on. Thanks to PortersTahoe and DC Shoes, I was able to make my way to Utah to visit the DC MTN. LAB. If you are not familiar with the Lab, it is a private training/R&D center for the DC Snowboard Team located in Park City, UT. A group of us from Northern California loaded up into a 15-passenger van and headed East on I-80. We made the best of the 9-hour drive by stopping at various casinos and fireworks stands throughout the middle-of-nowhere Nevada. Gambling kept us occupied.. when not in the actual casinos, there were people in the van rolling dice and playing ceelo.. 4-5-6! What?? The $1 bills were flyin’! Anyway, we finally made it to Utah at about 9pm and checked into our Condo at Newpark Resort. Let me say this, DC knows how to put people up! These condos were brand-new and P-I-M-P!

Road Trippin’ through the middle of nowhere NV!

Ceelo - 4, 5, 6! Winner take all.
After a goodnight sleep, we hit up Park City Resort the next morning. The day started out nice but windy. We made some laps in the park and then the clouds and snow rolled in. We decided to explore the mountain in search of some nice pow-pow. We were in luck! We stumbled upon some insane tree lines with about a foot of Utah fresh. So sick.. We rode super hard and got as much pow as we could. That night we hit up a sweet Mexican restaurant for a nice buffet of good grub.

NorCal DC Rep. Jarret gettin’ some pow.

Eric from Boards’ N Motion slashin’ pow.
Okay.. enough rambling. On Saturday, we made it to the infamous DC Mtn. Lab. What can I say? This place is off the freakin’ hook. First of all, the house is insane. I was most impressed by the bathrooms(sh*t you not!) and they’re heated-toilet seats. Damn straight.. But the best part was obviously the private park that was awaiting our shred. SPT (Snow Park Technologies) helped design and fabricate the park, and you can tell. Everything is dialed. Boxes are smooth, jumps are perfect, and the rails were on point. Not to mention the “Little Biggie” rope tow. With blue-bird skies overhead, the shred was on. I haven’t rode this hard in such a long time. I just couldn’t stop.. I wouldn’t let myself stop. How many times will you be at the Mtn. Lab, right? So after a long day of amazing riding and great times (beer, food, etc.), we hung out for an amazing dinner. Thanks to everyone who made this happen, especially DC (Ron, Jarret, Bill) and PortersTahoe (Chappy, Alex, Aaron, Steph). Thanks for a great time and I hope to see ya next year!
